Hello,
The Twentyseventeen is a default wordpress theme. It is a very simple theme, it does not have the same scripts as our theme. Did you have such issue on your old server? if not this means theme does not have any fault. You must have left something undone while transferring or unfinished.
Please perform all steps described in the article suggested above. We need to know more information on this. What have you tried and in what phase is now the site transfer.
Stating just that theme crashes the current server is not enough.Let us know.

No it won’t. The content is stored in the database. Unless you choose to delete plugin and all it’s data, then it’s files and content will be deleted. But when you only deactivate it, nothing will be lost.
The same goes for theme. Theme update will replace old theme files with the new ones. It does not affect the content.
First go to your Envato accound and download a fresh copy of theme files.
If you have made direct changes to theme files, then we strongly advise to keep a backup of old theme files. To do this, go to wp-content/themes/ using a ftp connection or using the cpanel. Find theme folder “specular” and rename it (example: specular_old).
Now go to wordpress dashboard Appearance > Themes, import the newly downloaded theme file.
Activate it and that’s it. Now activate all other plugins as well.Read here for more details: https://codeless.co/documentation/main.html#update_theme

You may continue editing the site with your content. The site is like the minimal demo now.
I change the home page to the page used in the demo. I changed the main color and the buttons type in General Options > Styling Options.
I change the menu style from Simple to Centered Logo and Navigation, in General Options > Header Options.
I changed footer to one column in Footer Options and added the already imported widgets in Appearance > Widgets.Let us know if you want to change anything else.

This is because you have only targeted the image (img) with your custom css. The rest of the header is like the default. It won’t change unless you do alter it somehow(by changing theme options or adding custom code).
Try adding this code as well inside the
#logo img:top: 68%;
So the result will be like this:@media (max-width: 480px){ #logo img { width: 100%; height: auto !important; top: 68% !important; } }Result screenshot. Edit the value to your wish. Let us know.

You can upload a file or image from your wordpress or directly into the server using a ftp connection. It’s the same result.
Then edit the buttons url from it option panel in the wordpress admin panel.
I see the button is functional and send you to the pdf document. If that is not the right document, then you must have set the wrong url. Please know that this is not the element’s fault.Best regards!

You do not need to import demo data every time there is a theme update. Theme updates include only theme files. We make changes, improve or add new features, but this does not affect the content.
The content (options, pages, posts..etc) are stored in the database. Even after you change the dummy data to your own content, you would need to take theme updates all the time. This does not mean you would need to redo the work from scratch.Importing dummy data does load all the content in your server, but you need to make a few configurations after. The video tutorials help you understand how theme works.
I understand you frustration but please know that this is a very complex theme. It has many functionalities and it can’t be learned in one glance.
This is why you need to read theme’s documentation first and watch the video tutorials. You can really do amazing work with it.From what i see in your site right now, the first thing you need to do is go to General Options and assign a home page and a blog page.
If you want, send us the login details in a private reply (or fill in your profile data) and i can configure the site just like the demo.
I will also write down all the performed changes for you to have the most clear view of all changes made.Read this article for more information.

Did the progress bar finished with 100% the import process? Some demos do not have many pages, so you may think there is more to import but that’s actually all there is. Did you check the “Import with attachments” box? If not, then the images would not be imported. The attachments consist of images only.

The style of portfolio in video tutorial is of the Specular theme. Tower theme has the style you already have. To change it like the other theme, you need to change it’s css. You may do this by adding custom css in your custom css box.
