Let me Try to again Explain few things:#2: When you select the Source as Gallery – it will be output like a Gallery Not as or cant behave like portfolio item – If you are a Web developer you know that every block or code has specific output. It may not work like you trying to do it. I am sorry if output is based on input.
#3: If you know BootStrap Grid – it has 12 columns and its 50/50 Partion (6 col and 6 col), first has a Gallery and Gallery further has total itself 4 cols – Only 3 Cols containing an image (1 Column is being Used) thats why you are seeing 4 image, now if you select an image with full width or more than 1000px – it will autometically restrict by container – not to show full size image, becuase it will distrub the over layout.

I am sorry if it is not as per your Need or Expectation, you can read our forum how many people has feedback like that and yes you can post the features you want to have it in forum or in theme, our dev team keeps as an eye on those thread while doing next update.
