No there’s no need to restore the backup. One of the required plugins for the theme ” Redux” was deactivated and that’s why the site layout was disturbing.

The image is added to the menu using the Ap mega menu plugin that is added in the required plugins for the theme.
Please instal and activate the plugin and try adding images to the menu. If you face any issues then let me know.
