Thanks for the reply. I have done what you said but nothing shows up in the VC element list. I was able to get it to show up by using putting the vc_map function from the functions.php file. But then when I would add the VC element I created, nothing would show up on the page. Any thoughts?

I tried using the blog post page, but I need to display VC page content on that page as well. And it seems that when I turn the page into a blog post page, I loose the ability to display content through VC on the blog post page. Any way around this?
