in reply to: Problem Tower Theme Update to 2.8.3
Hi there,
what do you mean by “I have to install all necessary new plugins”? Usually plugins such as the codeless slider, simply kept working. It is included. So I’m not sure what you mean. Or is there a new version of that plugin too?
Cheers

in reply to: Theme Update / Envato WordPress ToolkitHi there,
right now, everything is working fine. I’m just worried, that the theme causes problems when WordPress is being updated. Had issues with this twice now.
The error message includes warnings such as:
“Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in /homepages/…/wp-content/themes/tower/admin/loader/extensions/metaboxes/extension_metaboxes.php on line 700
As mentioned earlier, with the help of a web developer I was able to fix the issue and am not having any problems now. I would however, appreaciate it very much, if such errors didn’t happen as a result of a WordPress update.
Thanks for your quick reply and for keeping me posted on the upcoming theme update.
Cheers

in reply to: on page menu issuesHi Ruco,
unfortunately the changes messed up the page completely. I can fix the issue with the sticky menu. BUT: For some reason there is a post grid at the bottom of the page now (did you do that?) and the last part “Zertifizierungen” is messed up. Can you please undo those changes?
Also: For me it’s impossible to retrace how you managed to get the menu working – sort of.
Please give an explanation so that we can manage ourselves in the future.
Cheers

May I suggest this as a feature update then… It would be a nice feature to be able to have custom sidebars also for blog pages. I’d be happy if that was possible in the future.

in reply to: How to customize the drop down menu?Great! That works.
Thank you.
in reply to: Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed:Hi Ruco,
yeah, that’s all good. I contacted you guys, because I didn’t know it was the NextGen Plugin at first.
After deleting the Plugin, everything went back to normal.
Thanks!
in reply to: Blog post design issuesHi,
it’s a shame you can’t have a proper “full-width” coloured row in a post. If you set a certain width with defined px, it will always look different on various devices. If it’s not possible for now, maybe that might be a feature for a future update of the theme? I mean you can easily do it on pages, so why not on posts as well?
Same goes for the sliders. I’d like to add sliders on top of posts. So maybe consider that as a feature as well.
Anyway, thanks for trying to offer a solution as good as possible for now.
Cheers,
Kim
in reply to: Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed:Hi Mihaila,
I am running WordPress Version 5.0.2 and Tower Version 2.8.
However, I found the mistake: The problem was caused by the Plugin NextGenGallery. I updated the plugin yesterday and that seems to have caused the issue. After deactivating the plugin everything went back to normal.
I will work on the page today. If the problem re-appears, I’ll get in touch.
Thanks for keeping an eye on this.
Cheers,
Kim
in reply to: Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed:Additional information: As I couldn’t even log into my WordPress instance anymore I called my host who told me that the error is produced by the theme. They deactiviated the theme. Now I can log in, but can’t use the theme. My entire page is basically not working anymore as it was created with Tower.
Two screenshots for you to see the problem:
Please offer a solution.

in reply to: Blog post design issuesHi Mihaila,
Thanks for your reply. Increasing the testimonial picture and changing the font colour works fine now.
Regarding content above the title: Is it possible to include a slider on top of the post (above the title?)
Also, as you set the grey bar with a fixed 1550px as width, the bar is still not full width on every device (Making it 2400px for my screen doesn’t solve the issue as the rest of the content within the bar shifts). If you select a row on a “page” and make it full width it is full width on every device. Do you have a solution?

in reply to: Blog post design issuesThis reply has been marked as private.in reply to: Bug in Codeless SliderHi Ruco,
sorry for the late reply. For now I simply changed the Header Style from “simple style” to “with border top”.
That solved the problem.
However, I will try to add the code as well to see if that works.

in reply to: Theme updateHi Ruco,
thanks for your reply. I checked, and I’ve got the latest version 2.8. As I installed the theme Friday the 14th I suppose I already got the update that was published a day later.
However for the future, what I understand is: From now on, when there is an update, I download the entire theme again via envato market and replace the old tower folder on my FTP with the new one.
Cheers,
Kim
