I have a bug in my system related to the Envato toolkit plugin. The older version (1.7.1) shows up with a reminder that it needs to be upgraded. When I upgrade, the new version (1.7.3) shows up, but 1.7.1 is still there. I have tried deleting them each separately, but the system cannot seem to get rid of 1.7.1. Last week while trying several different options to get it to go away, it caused my WordPress dashboard to crash and go blank (even though my website was still functioning, I had no access to the back end). Thankfully I had backed up the website recently, and after reading many articles about similar things happening online, I restored the site to a previous version and deactivated all the plugins.
It is now working again, but it again is showing the Envato Toolkit plugin in both the 1.7.1 and 1.7.3 versions. I have not touched either one, because I don’t want the same thing to happen again. I can include a screenshot of my plugin page so you can see, if that would be helpful.
Please let me know if you can help.

I apologize – this was supposed to be in the other forum (Tower Multipurpose Theme). I’m not sure how to move it, or delete it and add it to the other forum instead (and I don’t want to duplicate.) Please let me know how to proceed.

Hello,
This is strange. It does not happen on our side. Please go to your wp-content/themes/specular/plugins folder and remove the envato-wordpress-toolkit-master plugin zip file. Then go and delete the version 1.7.1 in your wp-content/plugins folder.
If you still need our help, please send us your ftp and wp credentials in a private reply. So we can give it a closer look.Best regards!

UPDATE:
I found the file and deleted it using FTP. When I went back to the WP Dashboard 1.7.3 was gone, but it still would not let me delete 1.7.1 (the only option was “edit”.) I found the other Envato Toolkit file in my plugins folder and deleted that as well. At that point, there were no Envato Toolkit plugins showing in my WP dashboard, and I couldn’t find it in the WP plugins store – so I assume it must be specific to the theme.
I had backed up my site before removing the files, so I restored. When I restored, it went back to the same thing (both 1.7.1, and 1.7.3 showing in my plugins). I tried again to delete 1.7.3 and then update 1.7.1. This time, it worked.
I have no idea where the error was, but hopefully this is the end of it. I’ll let you know if it happens again.
