      Hello,

      I am trying to change image size (featured image) in category page, that is the page where all posts appears.

      Please have a look to the page: https://oltremateria.it/category/news/

      I read one og your support topic, this one: https://support.codeless.co/forums/search/featured+images+size/

      where it is explained that

      “The blog post image sizes are set in file functions.php. Find these lines:

      function codeless_images_sizes(){

      add_image_size( ‘port3’, 600, 600, true );
      add_image_size( ‘port3_2’, 550, 265, true );
      — / / —
      add_image_size( ‘blog’, 625, 340, true );

      This line: add_image_size( 'blog', 625, 340, true ); set’s up the blog post featured image sizes. Edit this to the dimensions you want. Save file and upload again the images."

      So I tried to modify the value in blog but nothing happens

      The code inside my spcular child theme function.php is this:

      function codeless_images_sizes(){

      add_image_size( ‘port3’, 600, 600, true );

      add_image_size( ‘port3_grayscale’, 627, 470, true );

      add_image_size( ‘port2’, 460, 275, true );

      add_image_size( ‘port2_grayscale’, 940, 470, true );

      add_image_size( ‘port4’, 600, 600, true );

      add_image_size( ‘blog’, 825, 340, true );

      add_image_size( ‘alternate_blog’, 440, 195, true );

      add_image_size( ‘alternate_blog_side’, 355, 235, true );

      add_image_size( ‘blog_grid’, 350, 350, true );

      add_image_size( ‘staff’, 400, 270, true );

      add_image_size( ‘staff_full’, 500, 340, true );

      }

      Can you help me where I am wrong ?

      thanks

      Marco

      Hello,

      Please upload images once again, or run a plugin to recreate thumbnails.
      Let us know.

      Ok I uploaded again images and it seems it really change size dimensions on front end, but the images appear out of focus (as loosing quality).

      It seems the featured image is always being set to 265 width

      Whatever image size I set the featured image on front end always is at 265 width

      So I set add_image_size( ‘alternate_blog_side’, 265, 322, true ); in this way quality is little better, but still ugly

      If you see the page:https://oltremateria.it/category/news/

      you will have an idea of the problem

      Regards

      Marco

      I see your topic, as i need to modify blog and feutured image size this is how I changed:

      add_image_size( ‘blog’, 600, 730, array( ‘left’, ‘top’) );

      add_image_size( ‘alternate_blog’, 440, 195, true );

      add_image_size( ‘alternate_blog_side’, 265, 325, array( ‘left’, ‘top’) );

      add_image_size( ‘blog_grid’, 350, 350, true );

      I tried to upload again image or to rigenerate thumbnails but still images appeear not clear.

      See the difference between the image on the old site https://oltremateria.it/london-design-festival-2015/

      and the image in the site we are talking about

      I do not understand why I am always getting ugly blog featured images

      thanks

      marco

      Hello,

      Sorry for the late reply.
      I see that the original image is too wide compared to the shrieked version. Please try out different sizes until you get the best option.
      The function of codeless add_image_size() function is to edit images dimensions. It’s up to you to find that one dimension that fits your needs best.
      Let us know.

      Best regards!
