Hello,
I updated the theme yesterday and Visual Composer isn’t showing up when I try to edit the pages. It loads and never shows. I can’t even use the frontend editor. I use the free version that comes with the theme and don’t plan on buying the license, because the free version has everything I need.
the plugin is asking me to update it but will I have to pay for it?
Why is this happening? Is a VC issue or is it the theme? Is there anything I can do to fix it?
Thank you.
If i follow these instructions:
https://support.codeless.co/knowledge-base/visual-composer-update/
Won’t I lose all the modifications I made with the plugin? I have code on the Css box and everything. Will that not be lost if I simply delete the plugin and install a new one?
Thank you
Hello,
By following the instructions of the article you will be able to install the plugins version that is included in theme package. This means that you do not need to buy it.
By updating plugin, all of it’s files (located in wp-content/plugins/js_composer folder) will be overwritten. If you have made any direct changes to them, they will be lost.
As for all the created elements in the pages/posts or code added in custom css box, these are independent and will not be lost.
Best regards!
