Custom Sidebars from pages: also shows "Generic" sidebar

I’ve added a page to the list of pages to have custom sidebars. In the page options I have it set to use global layout (“Overwrite the default post layout” is set to off). I’ve added one test text widget to that page in the “widgets” section.

I also have a generic (common) widget, added to all pages in “Sidebar Pages” in “Widgets” area.

When page that supposed to have custom sidebar rendered it shows *both* the generic widget (from the sidebar that is applied to all pages) and the custom widget (from the custom sidebar) right below it.

Is that the expected behavior? Does custom sidebar simply adds to already existing sidebar? How do I actually replace the common sidebar with the custom one?

      Hello,

This is the current structure of the custom sidebar. If you do not want to display the widgets of the generic sidebar, then you can hide them using css.
If you send us the link where you have this, i can send you the exact code to add.
      Let us know.

      Best regards!

Hiding via CSS is not exactly a good solution. (SEO and page load speeds considered).

Anyway, what’s a point of having custom sidebars if they just add to a generic one? — If I so want a content of generic one to be in the custom —  I’ll simply add it to the custom one.

Right now, as is – I think this feature is broken, at least for me. Any chance you can add it to the list of changes for one of the next releases?

      Hello,

Yes, we have informed the developer team regarding this. We will edit this feature in future updates. We politely ask for your understanding and patience until then.

      Thank you!

Btw, what is the standard updates schedule for the theme? One update — per…?

      Hello,

We do not have such. An update comes whenever there is needed or new features are developed and added to the existing ones.
If there is an urgency (security or functionality) we would upload even one/two copy a week. Else, it depends on the developer team work progress.

      Best regards!
