Every single grid plugin I have used has had a major conflict with theme and doesn’t work. I have pdf files where I need to be able to upload like a grid, using their feature image, and searchable.

I used 4 different gallery plugins and only your theme is conflicting with it. I am currently using essential grid, but the search doesn’t work. This is a theme problem, not a plugin issue.
