We’re having an issue on our site where we cannot change the favicon. It’s pointing to a brand new image that we’ve uploaded this month, but the favicon itself is displaying the old version. We’ve cleared every cache connected with the site but none of them fix the issue.
Our site is run by WPEngine who also helped us and they even scoured the php files of the site to see if it was manually coded in there somehow but they found nothing that would cause that. I’ve included our site URL below. Please advise. Thanks!

Hello,
Do you have any caching enabled in your server? Please flush server cache as well.
If the issue persists, send us some valid wp and cpanel credentials in a private reply. So we can give this a closer look.Best regards!

Hello,
You have an old version of theme. Please update to the recent version 2.1 first. Let us know if the issue will persist after this.
Best regards!

We have updated the theme but that did not fix the issue.

Hello,
You have many third party plugins installed in your site. One of them directly adds scripts to the header. I already tested the situation on my side and this does not happen. It means something on your side is affecting theme scripts and giving this issue.
Please deactivate all third party plugins. Switch to parent theme, to rule out every additional code change added in child theme and try again.
Let us know.Best regards!

I tried those suggestions and it didn’t fix the problem.

Hello,
Can you please check your ftp credentials? I am not able to connect to the server. See screenshot: https://postimg.org/image/xji01ubf9/
Best regards!

It looks like you are using the incorrect port. Here is a document with information on how to login with sftp on wpengine servers: https://wpengine.com/support/sftp/

Hello,
The credentials are not working neither with port 2222.
Please check and let us know.Regards!

Please make sure you are using SFTP when logging in and look at this document I shared previously and use the suggestions by WPEngine.

You are using the wrong program as we have already explained. You need to use an sftp app, not an ftp app per the link we have shared before where WPEngine explains that they don’t use a typical FTP program. The programs in this link we’re sharing are standard FTP programs. Here is a link: https://wpengine.com/support/sftp/

Hello,
Please can you disable header footer plugins because i see that in the theme it was added more that an fav icon and also there lot of new configuration added by this plugin. I think that this cause the problem. Please try to change the fav icon of the theme into Theme Options and also the fav icon if it possible added by plugins.
You have also to check the fav icon generated by wordpress itself:
Prepare image file. It must be square, and at least 512 pixels wide and tall.
Go to Administration Screen > Appearance > Customize
Click Site Identify
Click Select Image at Site Icon section, upload the image file you prepared in the above step from Upload Files tab screen, and click Select.Let us know.
Regards!
