Visual Composer issues

  On our back-end, WP is notifying us that we need to update WP Bakery Page Builder. When we try to do it we get the following error: Update Failed: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.
  
  We cannot delete the plugin and re-upload a fresh version of Visual Composer as we believe it is hard-coded into the Tower theme. We tried to do this since the update link will not work in the WP back-end.
  
  Also, we cannot edit any elements on our back-end if the page is using LayerSlider. We believe these are both issues being caused by the WPBakery Page Builder. Please advise.

  Hello,
  
  First please update theme so you can install the very latest included version of the plugin. Then follow these steps here-> link, to update plugin from theme. No activation required. Just install and activate from wordpress’s Plugins menu.
  Layerslider does not have any conflict issue with Visual Composer. Do you have any other third party plugin installed? If so, please deactivate them all and check again.

  Hello,
  
  Please go to your parent theme first, and then update/install plugins. The file path that is being called is in the parent theme. So if you try installing included plugins from the child theme, it will generate the wrong path error.

  That fixes that issue with Visual Composer, however updating the theme forces LayerSlider to use the default slider. It doesn’t recognize other sliders.

  Layerslider is an independent slider that comes bundled in theme’s package. But it’s not controlled or edited out in no way from theme scripts. So updating your theme, does not affect it’s work.
  Please make sure to update the slider too. The latest version of it it’s inside the theme’s main folder (that you downloaded from Envato). To update plugins from theme, use these steps: https://support.codeless.co/?ht_kb=visual-composer-update

  Please keep the Layerslider version included in theme. Which is vs 6.5.5. Theme is fully compatible with it, but we have not yet tested it with the latest version (6.6.1). The included version of the slider has no issues and is compatible with theme.
  We will check and test the newest plugin update and make the necessary changes for it to work flawlessly with theme, in future updates.
  Or use it as an element from Visual Composer. Like in this test page: https://getyoufound.staging.wpengine.com/test/

  Ok that worked when I installed the version within the theme itself. Ours didn’t have it on the server so I re-downloaded it from ThemeForest. Thanks!
