Vimeo videos cannot be toggled on when loaded within the media category — only autoplays. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

Hello,
What link have you added in video player?
There is a ‘background’ parameter set to 1, which makes the controls not visible://player.vimeo.com/video/239666001?badge=0;api=1;background=1;autoplay=0;loop=0
Please check it and let me know, or you can provide us your site credentials so I can check it.
Regards!

Hello,
I added a test vimeo video in your portfolio page (https://logiqworks.co/portfolio/alice/) and the controls are visible. Please see screenshot: https://postimg.org/image/95issqq1ff/
If you set the autoplay on, the video will start automatically. The controls will still be visible. (https://postimg.org/image/6i7dudsf4r/)
Let us know if this is what you needed.Best regards!

That’s weird, every Vimeo video that I add does not show the controls — whether its set to autoplay or not. However, I can add the test video you used on any page and that one does show the controls. Am I doing something wrong?

Hello,
Please check the settings of your videos from the Vimeo site first. Perhaps the links you are sharing are configured to hide the control settings (or unchecked for display) in the vimeo account settings.
You can ask more about it at the Vimeo support/faqs.
Let us know.Best regards!

Actually, everything is set to default and have not been checked/toggled off. Also, any random Vimeo video that I add to page do not show controls. So I know its not just my Vimeo account. I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong when I add video media to the page. Youtube videos work without a problem but that is not my preferred video host. Thanks

Hello,
Can i see a link of one of your vimeo videos? Not just the id.
Regards!

Sure thing. The videos are https://vimeo.com/239666001 and https://vimeo.com/26629184. Again, the corresponding page is https://logiqworks.co/portfolio/alice/. Thanks

Hello,
This is related to the vimeo video settings. Please check this link, as it may help you: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24971297/how-to-hide-vimeo-controls
I suggest you contact the vimeo support and ask for more insight as this is not controlled by theme.
Best regards!

How is this related to Vimeo’s settings when the video settings are default? Either there’s a bug in your media widget or unclear directions on how to utilize this aspect when building pages using your theme. It seems as if I should just be able to drop the video ID within media widget and it should work immediately. Hiding the controls are secondary. I’m not even trying to do that at this point.

Hello,
I already made an example for you with a video that does has the controls. The video is one of the vimeo default videos, that you can find in the home page.
Yes, the media element is that straightforward, just add the id of the video and that’s it. It will display that video with all the settings set for it in the main server where it is uploaded (aka Vimeo).
The media element uses API to load the videos and that goes the same for every video.I checked with Vimeo and there are differences in user rights. If you are a Pro user, you can edit out these settings when you upload the video first place. If not, it will take the default settings set from the Vimeo team.
Please check it further with the Vimeo support.Best regards!

I appreciate your effort but unfortunately this does not help.
My issue is not the customization of Vimeo videos. It’s that the Vimeos videos are not playing at all. It has nothing to do with anything from the Vimeo side. I’ve been using their Pro service for 7+ yrs now – I’m very clear on how to customize the player. The problem seems to be how the API is connecting with the theme.
The default Vimeo video you used as an example works fine, but I’m sure you would better understand my issue if you try 2 or 3 other random demo videos from the Vimeo homepage.
