This is an older version of Specular theme. I just checked this on the latest version and the white space is not present. Please make sure to have the latest theme version installed. If the situation persists, send us a link and some valid wp credentials, in a private reply. So we can give it a closer look.
The copy you download from Themeforest is always the latest available, every time.
So if we make an update and you re-download after that date, you will be downloading the very latest version again.
Themeforest has not updated since february. My version still has the empty space in the slider. So either themeforest has not offered the updated version – files are dated december 2017 or there has not been an update in the meantime.

My specular version is 2.6.1. I don’t think I have an outdated version. If you have fixed the white space in your version, could you just sent me the right version of the gallery slider? Maybe the plugin is outdated.
This is Flexslider and it’s files are incorporated inside theme files. There is no other plugin to update. We need the credentials to check and find what is affecting theme scripts on your side. Since this is not a theme issue as we have already tested. If you do already have the latest theme files and you had not made any changes directly into them, then there should not be any problem.
