The theme has a “Recent Portfolio” element which shows the latest projects from the portfolio.
Is there a way to tag portfolios as featured, or simply select the exact portfolio items you want to display instead?

Hello,
Sorry that is not possible. You can only choose from categores. Go to option Set featured Portfolio > Select a specific category > Select the category.
