I logged in but apart from the menu not being assigned in Appearance > Menus, i do not see any other issue. Nor any error notice.
Did you manage to fix them?

Normally there should not be any problem updating theme as long as you have not made any changes direct to theme files.
If you had, these changes will be overwritten and lost.

I can suggest you to update theme from the ftp in the future. Just go to wp-content/themes from a ftp account. Upload the new theme version, overwritting the old one. You can keep a backup of old files by simply renaming the old theme and then upload the new version.

**Saving backups is always recommended!
