404 for all pages after install

  I went through the entire specular install. Seemed to go fine. When I loaded the home page for the first time, I got a 404 error.
  
  I changed permalinks to “post name”. Then I was able to click on the nav to get to pages. But the default home page (www.slarph.com/acg) was still 404.
  
  I went to settings>Reading and set the static page to Home. It won’t save like that. It keeps reverting to nothing.
  
  Also, when i DO navigate to the home page through the nav, the top slider is blank and says it needs to be set. I tried to do that, and nothing…
  
  I think I thought this would be easier.

  404 error fixed. Needed to go into “customize” not into settings>reading.
  
  Still can’t get the slider to work.

  And just like that, i solved the slider also.
  
  (maybe it IS that easy.)

  Let us know if we can help you further. I think sometimes the options in the Specular Options don’t load properly so you have to set the home page manually.
