This is not caused by theme. I suggest you install a plugin to protect site from spam. Also add reCaptcha filter for contact forms. Additional step to protect site: https://themeisle.com/blog/stop-comment-spam-on-wordpress/ https://www.hostgator.com/blog/anti-spam-wordpress-plugins/
