SPECULAR THEME:
I made changes to the content of my website yesterday which initially worked. I then updated the theme and also made a few plug-in updates.
The issues I am facing:
CONTENT NOT UPDATING
The changes to the content are reflected in my edit page but don’t show up on the website. When I hit preview or review website from the edit page I get taken to a blank page. I have cleared all caches, history, refreshed browser and the modem – to no avail.
I am guessing that between updating the theme and messing with the plugins therein lies the issue.
Plug Ins and Themes are as follows:
Codeless framework 1.02
Envato Market 2.01
WP Bakery Page Builder 6.05
Specular 3.21
THEME ISSUES:
The Specular Child was showing as not activated (?) so I activated it and it asked me to update plug ins and when I did that I got an error
Cannot declare class because name is already in use. This happened to several of the plug in updates.
So I am stuck as to how to fix this.
I have a list of active and inactive plugins that I can share as well.
PS
Also I don’t know if this is related but at the bottom of the theme page it says: The following themes are installed but incomplete, name Bridge child – the parent theme is missing please install bridge parent theme.

We got the email with the list of the plugins active & inactive.
First, please know that the child theme is optional. If you do not have intentions in changing theme files than you may as well just activate the parent theme.-Please add some wp credentials in a private reply. So i can check the installment of plugins closely.
-Child theme’s are depended to a parent theme. If you have uploaded only the child theme files of a certain theme (Bridge in this case), but in the same time the actual theme is not uploaded (in wp-content/themes folder).. then this message will show. It’s nothing serious. Just either upload the Bridge theme too, or just remove it’s child theme from theme’s.

Here are the four error messages that now happen after removing the duplicates, it also includes what happens when I try to install, activate, or update the required plugin.

Hello,
I removed the doubles and deactivated third party plugins. I made a test with this page: https://www.dmhbiopharm.com/about-us-copy/
I copied and then edited the content of About us page. All changes saved well.You can start activating the plugins you need to use, but do this one on one and try saving after every plugin activation. One of them could be conflicting with theme and causing the problem in saving.

I am not having the same results as you.
This is how the edit page for the “home page” looks and the site when I open it.
PS I tried making a change something on the edit page and when I hit preview I got the error “sorry you are not allowed to preview drafts. I have cleared all caches and cookies but it still is not updating or allowing me to preview.

I also note that when I go to the “about us page” on the dash I am able to preview (interesting to note that site address says (dmhbiopharm.com – which is the original site)
but when I hit “home page” on the dash and hit preview it starts in the browser as dmhbiopharm and then switches to dmhethics.com (dmhbiopharm is supposed to point to dmhethics) that is when I am getting the error

Please try opening the site from a different browser or deactivate any add-ons you may be having in your browser. As stated in my last reply, i tested it and it has no issues.

Did you test changing the home page? And if it is working why is my edit page for the home page showing one thing yet it is not updating on the site. Can we escalate this higher as the issue of not being able to update the home page still occurs. Did you look at all my comments above and the screen shots? I’d like to escalate this.

This is NOT resolved. Please see the attached link. The edit page for my home page shows what it should say – but the website does not show this and when I try to preview it still says I don’t have access to drafts. PLEASE ESCALATE THIS – I NEED TO HAVE THIS RESOLVED.

1-The “sorry you are not allowed to preview drafts” error is a common permalink error. Not related to the theme installed. You can try the following steps:
-Clean browser cache and cookies;
-Log out of your current section, close browser, open it again and login again. This could resolve it too;

There isn’t any apparent reason for this to happen, apart from the fact that you have installed and activated (at least once) a lot of plugins. Even if you deactivate them after, some plugins can affect theme code and the change does not reverse even if you deactivate it after. That’s why is advisable to keep as fewer plugins as possible. Also, i see you have added one of the theme’s core files in the child theme. This can bring issues if not properly handled. However, given the above error too, this is mostly due to some caching issue. Do you have any cache installed in the server?
I suggest you clear cache (browser and server-side) first, if the situation does not change, try activating parent theme.PS: Please consider updating your support time in order to receive further support.

I have cleaned all caches and cookies.
I have logged out and logged on the brower and on the word press site.
I have activated the parent theme.
I have checked the permalinks file and the code is exactly what they suggest in the above article you sent me.
I purchased Specular support on August 20, 2019 and it says my support is valid unil 19 February 2020.
So where does this leave us? I have a site that will not update the home page and despite my permalinks coding being correct I still cannot preview the site?

Hello,
I see you have purchased WP Bakery separately. Did you install the Visual Composer purchased separately? Or the one included in theme package? If is the first, please delete the plugin folder in wp-content/plugins. Then refresh dashboard. A message asking you to install required plugins will appear at the top of dashboard page. Follow the steps to install the included version of Visual Composer.
The included WP Bakery is customized to fit theme needs, so it’s recommended you use this version instead.
