Update theme

  Hi!, I would like to ask you an information about the theme updates.
  
  To proceed with updating the theme and not losing any settings how can I proceed? currently I have installed the specular theme and the child of it active, do I have to force upload it via ftp? won’t I lose the data by deleting the previous one and putting the new version? I tried updating through the wordpress dashboard but it says impossible with a very long error.

  This issue is usually caused by incorrect file permissions on your server (rather than being a problem with the plugin itself). Basically, WordPress isn’t able to properly access its own plugins folder, and as a result, can’t put the updated files in there.
