Our Tower theme is quite old version 1.8.2 and we would like to update to latest version 2.8.2 but do not see any automatic theme update within the WordPress admin which normally for most themes you get?
Can someone please advise if it is possible to update from 1.8.2 to 2.8.2 and the best method?
There are two ways to update the theme. Manually: replace old them files with the new theme files. Automatically: use a plugin like Envato Market to make the update process for you. It’s just one click and you are done.
We suggest keeping a copy of the theme files if you have made any changes directly to them. Also make a backup of theme settings, by exporting all theme settings from Settings > Export menu. Then after an update, if anything has changed, you can import these settings again to your site.
*After theme update (manual or automatic with Envato Market) all theme plugins get deactivated. Just go to Plugins menu and activate them again. Update any plugin that has a message that shows it has a new version available. It’s very important to have plugins updated along with the theme. Or issues may arise.
