I bought the folie theme intending to create a site that looks like the Photography Light demo. I wanted to have, like Photography Light, a portfolio page as the homepage displaying as a grid, 3 images wide, and when you click on individual items they enlarge the picture. Currently I’m only able to make each portfolio item full width and when you click on each image it transfers you to a new page. I have been categorising each portfolio item in the hope that when you click on the portfolio category on the side it takes you to a new page showing only those categories as a similar grid to the main portfolio page. I have no idea how to do this. I will reply privately with my wp credentials in case you can go in and have a look.
When did you first bought theme? I see you have an old version(2.5.4) while the latest version is 2.5.7. Please deactivate the third-party plugins, update theme and check again.
I just reinstalled the exact demo on my side to check and there is no problem with it (screenshot).

One thing I’m still stuck on is how to display category items along the top right hand side of the page like on the demo so that when you click on one of them it only shows portfolio items from that category.
Lastly I’d prefer that when you click on a portfolio item it either does nothing or shows you a bigger version of it like in the demo.
-The portfolio element pulls out the portfolio items. You can add more portfolio items in Portfolio > Add New (screenshot). There is no need to create any portfolio page, anywhere.
