Remove portfolio from slug

  Hi,
  
  I’d like to remove portfolio from slug (not to change, to remove). How can I do this?
  
  Right now the URL is
  
  https://mysite.com/portfolio/item1
  
  and I want to be
  
  https://mysite.com/item1
  
  How can I do this?

  Replace the slug with ‘/’

  I’ve put ‘/’ in Appearance-Customize-Custom Types-Portfolio and saved the permalinks. But it’s not working. I keep receiving 404Error.

  After saving, please do a refresh of permalinks. You can do that by changing Settings -> Permalink to a new structure and then come back to the needed one.

  I have just checked you website and the issue seems to be with your htacess configuration.
  
  I had fixed by set the simple permalink configuration.
  
  Check: https://wordpress.org/support/article/htaccess/
  
  Or contact directly your hosting provider.
