you want to sort it by date it is sorting by date.

Let me explain to you when you send ascending order then the first published item will show first.

If you send descending order then the last published item will show first.

Please check and let me know it  you want any thing else or have any confusion.

I don’t think you understand what I told you.
When it load first it will be in order by date.

After you filter that this is done by other code. That just show the items of that category that might be arranged and might not be arrange.
When you filtering then the order is changing as filter will only pick the items of that category only these items are not sorted.
