Hi,
We purchased the theme from you about a year ago. Today we notice that the theme stopped working in a lot of different sections such as the slider, menu bar and so on. We also noticed 2 updates are required from the theme’s plug-in and we tried updating both the updates but it won’t update. It says we are not authorized to do the update and we need a WPBakery account. If you could please help us trouble shoot this issue with the theme. We purchased the theme with these plug-ins working properly within the theme, these were the pluging required by the theme, but they are not working with the theme right now. Please advise, thank you.

Hi,
Kindly download latest version from your Envato account and use that one. Also note don’t forget to keep your website backup and follow standard procedures to update themes and plugins. Also follow documentation to update your theme so you don’t waste any of your data.
Thank You

Hi,
Where do I download the latest version and where can I find it, also by latest version do you mean a new theme? Like downloading it on the theme folder? If so, won’t that delete all the content and information in our current website.

Hi,
Kindly make sure you understand whole process clearly before moving forward. First of all you have to download theme from your theme-forest account. Once done then you have to take full backup of your website so if any thing goes wrong you have backup to keep going. Then you have to follow documentation or general WordPress theme update guidelines to do it properly.
Note: Make sure you know what you doing as it may crash your website so do it very carefully.
Thank You

Hello,
Thank you for your patience.
– I have downloaded the theme from my theme forest account (Just to make sure this is the updated theme is that correct?)
– I have contacted our hosting provider and they did say they have a back up of our website (If they do install the backup then it will be the old theme won’t it?)
– 3rd step you said we have to follow documentation or general WordPress theme update guidelines to do it properly (If so, where do I find these guidelines, from my understanding there is only one place to upload the theme and that is on the Dashboard> Appearance> Theme > Upload Theme) are those steps incorrect from my previous message, if so where can I find the guidelines you are referring to, to fix the issue with the theme we are currently experiencing? -
Hi,
Yes you did fine so that will be latest theme.
In 2nd point yes if your host said they have taken backup then its fine to move on.
Third, those are things or guidelines like you did in earlier two steps. To keep backup, use latest version of theme and plugins etc …
So, you have latest theme and backup as well so now you can simply move on to update your theme.
Thank you

Hi,
Thank you for your reply, but my question was not answered.
– will all our files and content be deleted if we upload this new theme?
– If our hosting has the back up and they do install the backup then it will be the old theme because that’s the theme the back up was created with. So, could you clarify because from my experience changing your website’s theme will delete the content and information created on that theme?– My other questions was is this the steps you were referring to when “updating” the theme – Dashboard> Appearance> Theme > Upload Theme
If so, isn’t that a theme change and not just an update, I have seen theme updates before when the theme update is just on the ‘dashbaord’ and does not have to necessarily re-upload the new theme because in doing so it will delete all the content we have typed in it.
Hoping you could answer my questions clearly since we did purchase your theme thinking it will be a reliable and compatible theme.
Thank you,

Hi,
Kindly note theme has nothing to do with data. As data resides inside database, theme only showcases that data in nice presentation.
So updating theme will not change data.
Thanks

Hello, the theme update did not work, the website looks completely different and ugly. It did not fix the solution. I am about to call our hosting provider right now to re-install our back up. Is there another way to fix this theme problem without having to re-do our website? Please advise.
-
Hi,
Can you please mention the issues new update caused ? Though we are into next one too, to make sure we do it as soon as possible again.
Thank You
-
Yes, the whole set up of our website is gone, the color schemes we choose, the format of the header, the side menu bar, our logo, the home page content, the font’s we have selected, the slider, the banners on every single page. And basically our whole website looks different from what we have created after the update. The blog posts data are still there, but the look of it is different.
Our main problem when we first reached out was that the slider on the theme is not working. You guys said to do the theme update and this have caused multiple problems on the website, not just the slider. Now we are working with our hosting provider to get the website back up to the way it was before. Before purchasing your theme we thought it was a reliable theme sine there were many reviews.

Hi,
My friend its reliable theme and the users are more than enough to trust it. Though make sure nothing changed on server side as its not that we have changed every thing. Updates only take the issues as resolved but not removing old stuff.
Thank You

Nothing has changed on our server side. I just called our hosting provider. The only thing not working on the website is the slider and header of the theme. If I edit it on the back end the edit for the header is there but it is not showing up on the font end. I called our hosting provider a few times to double check out back end and they said the error is coming from the theme. I reached out and you guys asked me to re-upload the theme and promised that the data will not be removed and nothing will change. Which we did and the data is there but the whole look and functionality of it is completely changed. We had to call our hosting provider again to do a back up reset, so my friend please tell me how was that a reliable move for your theme to promise such outcomes which did not happen. What we would like to understand is what the error is with the them which is causing it to now show the slider on the homepage and the headers on the other pages. I have also left a very good review for your theme last year after our website went live. Not once we had a problem or issue with the support team or the theme last year. But like our hosting provider clarified with us, they have no control on the theme of the website and the issue is coming from the theme for the slider to stop working and the pages header to stop working.

Hi,
My friend as you guys are updating theme after one year which is huge time. That’s why we advised you to keep backup with you so you can use your backup by now to keep your website running. And you can play with your new theme version on your local setup or some other setup. Once all is done you can move your website to live site.
I hope that will work for you.
Thank You

Hi,
My friend when we purchased the theme a year ago it didn’t require any updates and we do have a backup. Also, my friend I don’t think you are clearly understanding the problem at hand. Please do read my previous requests. As for the back up, we do have a website backup that’s why we were able to restore all the content, but in doing so the so called theme update had to be diminished because your theme seems to not be compatible with WordPress any longer. Again my friend please do read my previous messages so you can reply to me properly with knowledgeable understanding of the issue at hand. The theme update changed soo much that we won’t be able too “play” around with it since the functionality is clearly wildly different from the way it was a year ago. Let me update my review for your theme, thank you for your help. Hoping to hear a knowledgeable solution from your theme’s support.

Hi,
Kindly note we are there to assist you and asking for backup is only a standard procedure so your content stays safe. That’s why I asked about the backup and to use that as your site crashed.
Well, you can provide me your admin login credentials as a private reply so I can check that for you.
Thank You
