Hi people,
do you know if it is possible to override header.php file in child theme?
Thank you -
-
I think it is not so simple. I modified header.php file adding only this line in <head> tag:
<meta name=”google-site-verification” content=”iLuZlu9_kfOoH9XP_Jki189xq1kswezZn-g0MMo6rfw” />After, I saved new header.php file in specular-child folder and I get the error that you can see here
https://www.savinoutdoor.it/screenshot.jpgIs there any particular procedure to override theme?
Thank you -
Hi,
Are you getting any error upon fresh installation of your child theme ? Kindly clarify, so I can have a check accordingly.
Thanks

Hi,
Can you please provide me your admin login credentials along with FTP login details as a private reply so I can have a check for you ?
Thanks

Hi,
I am checking at my local setup and sooner will be updating you with the working code. Thanks for your patience as it is taking more time than expected.
Thanks again

Hi,
Thanks for the patience, I have checked header file works just fine the only thing is other required files are needed as well. So, to use child theme properly you can add other required files as well and it will be working just fine.
Kindly let me know if you still have any confusion ?
Thanks again

Thank you for your reply but I think that I don’t understand maybe… which other files do I have to add?
-
Hi,
It depends on the tasks you want to perform, like if you want to only avoid those errors then you can to just update those files which having those functions and that’s it. Let me know if you further need anything discussed ?
Thanks

Sorry, I keep on not understanding.
In order to override header.php file, the way, is to modify the file and upload it in specula-child folder?
If yes, I did it. When I upload modified header.php file in this folder, I get the error you can see here https://www.savinoutdoor.it/screenshot.jpg.
Here you can see the overrided header.php: https://www.savinoutdoor.it/videos/overrided-header.txtHere you can see the original header.php: https://www.savinoutdoor.it/videos/original-header.txt
Why does happen this? -
Hi,
OK, don’t worry at all I have updated files for you. Now you can just make your changes inside your child theme’s header.php and let me know if you are done ?
Thanks
-
Now it works fine… Thank you very much but, please, just to understand, which files did you update?
