“You must call ‘the_content’ function” error on portfolio items

Elementor error

  Getting the following error when trying to edit portfolio items in Elementor:
  
  “Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call ‘the_content’ function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.”
  
  Does anyone here know the reason and how to resolve this?
