one of our clients had us made a website for him, somewhere around 2016-2017, it was made using your Specular theme. Unfortunately said client never wanted updates/support for the site now we’re stuck at Specular 2.3.1, once we switch over to a new PHP Version the site breaks (obviously) and once we update to the newest Specular version, all of the Design changes dramatically. We are using the child theme, however no modifications were done to the theme files.
Is there a possibility to still update the theme, without it changing the design?
Or are we only able to recreate the site?
Actually a lot has changed in the mean time even for WordPress as well. So, we have to keep our theme compatible with the WordPress, now you can take full website backup and can move on. If anything goes wrong you can revert back.
Until you are done you have to give some efforts now.
