How can I prevent the featured image of a post from serving cropped and poor quality?

Hi,
The purpose to share the article link is to acknowledge that this isn’t about the theme but the default functionality of WordPress.Have you regenerated the thumbnail using the “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin? The code mentioned in the article will enhance the quality of newly added images, not the earlier/previous ones.
When the image of high resolution is rendered inside a box of small height x width, then it always affects the image quality.

The issue here was actually the 825×340 blog post image that your theme registers for WP to create. This is a custom image size that also crops the original image when it is uploaded. This is 100% caused by the theme. When I turned that custom size off so that it is not generated when an image is uploaded that fixed the problem and now blog posts render the original image that’s uploaded.
Regenerating thumbnails wouldn’t help in this instance since your theme registers for that custom size to be generated and it crops the image. It’s also what the theme looks for and uses for blog post featured images if it finds it.
Not sure how you don’t know this since you guys are the theme authors.
