What I am trying to accomplish is duplicating the Staff Carousel. So far I have successfully created the new custom post type by creating a new type file in specular/includes/types and it link to include it into the function.php file.
That is all working.
Then I duplicated the staff carousel functions in the codeless_elements.php file in the folder includes/core.
The issue I am getting is that I can not get the short code to show up in the VC backend editor. Is there another place I need to initialize it to get it to show up?
You want to create a new element in visual composer or a new custom post type like the staff?
After adding the element at codeless_elements.php, you must create a file at vc_templates folder with the name, the element name(the one you added at codeless_elements.php). Or just copy the testimonial_carousel.php file and make the changes you want at vc_templates.
Thanks for the reply. I have done what you said but nothing shows up in the VC element list. I was able to get it to show up by using putting the vc_map function from the functions.php file. But then when I would add the VC element I created, nothing would show up on the page. Any thoughts?
