Hello-
There are quite a few alignment issues happening throughout my site. Everything was working and I did not make any changes and then all the sudden things that should be center aligned are aligning way to the left. This is happening in several places..
- On the home page- the buttons after my services in the 3rd column. All of the settings are completely the same so not sure why it is happening only in one column. Screen shot here.
- On my webinars page- https://216.166.82.94/thought-leadership/webinars/ – the service icon text is aligning to the left even though it is set to be centered. Screen shot here.
- On the mission, vision, values page- https://216.166.82.94/careers/mission-values/ – again, service icon text aligning to the left even though it should be centered. Screen shot here.
I also have places that the row’s background color is missing- example is the animated counter on the home page.
Help!!

Hello,
1- The column settings for the third column are not the same as the other columns. Remove the left padding (https://www.clipular.com/c/5322115095461888.png?k=8-MnfdbBOzXB4J2E6Q-6NNF_DMQ) at your third column and the buttons will have the same alignment as the previous buttons.
2, 3- I see that you have an old version of visual composer. Please update theme and vislual composer to the latest versions (4.12 for vc and 2.1 for theme).
Let us know if these issues persist even after update.Best regards!

Hello,
I see you have updated the theme, but not the visual composer. The issues you are having are related to the visual composer elements, so you need to update the plugin. The version you have is old. Read this article for more information on how to update it.
Best regards!

Now there are actually more problems. Background images and colors on rows set to full width background are not showing up.
-
Hello,
I fixed them. Please check your site.
2. I added this code to the page CSS box: page.services_medium.style_1.wpb_content_element p { margin-left: 185px; }
3. I added this code to the page CSS box: page
.vc_col-sm-4.vc_column.column_container.with_padding.vc_custom_1470328497624.vc_custom_1470328497624 p { margin-left: 20px; } .vc_col-sm-4.vc_column.column_container.with_padding.vc_custom_1470328503592.vc_custom_1470328503592 p { margin-left: 15px; }
Row background color is missing because you need to choose one color for it to display. Set them again.
Let us know.Best regards!

Thanks, that fixed that spot but again, created more issues. Now there is a bunch of weird spacing all over the page. The orange bar has a ton of space at the top, the is too much space below the service circle icons, below the service small icons, and below the map. These css codes seem to fix one issue but create one somewhere else.. is there another way to solve this?? I don’t get why the spacing is showing up in the first place? My rows do not have padding and I didn’t insert any extra space. This is starting to get pretty frustrating…
-
Hello,
The codes that we added don’t affect the other section of your page. The spaces you are seeing are because you have added so much padding at your columns and settings (Services, animated counter) so almost every element on your page has a padding.
These paddings and spaces were there before we even added the codes, we just fixed the issues. Remove or decrease the padding as you like if you do not want that much space shown between the elements. See here is an example that you still have padding on your rows.
Also you have installed many third party plugins. Maybe one of them conflict with the theme, that doesn’t mean that the theme has issues about alignment. It is a well tested theme, we are sorry if you find it frustrating.
Anyway we are here to help so let us know.Regards!

Thanks for the response. Yes, some of my rows do still have padding. However, those are not the rows that I am concerned about. Please take a look at my settings for my rows on my home page. Specifically the service circle icon row, the row with the orange background, and the service small icon row. I have double checked and none of these rows have padding. However, there are still strange spaces occurring. I also tried deactivating all of my plugins to see if any of those were the issue. The issues were still present with them turned off, so it must be something in the theme. Can you please take a look?

Hello,
I checked your site and set a padding to the services row. It reflected the change just as it should.
Can you please be more clear on what are you trying to do? If you want o (zero) space between the rows, then you can change that using custom css. Even if you set row padding to none, the theme is designed to give a least space between the rows (for aesthetic reason).Let us know.

Please see a screen shot here: https://216.166.82.94/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/screencapture-216-166-82-94-1472755193693.png
The brackets are where I think that there is too much spacing between elements. I want there to still be some space, I just want less. I don’t get why even when I have things set to zero padding, there is still space, especially space that is so uneven… You would think it would at least be consistent…

Hello,
I understand your point now. As i mentioned in my last reply, there is set a specific amount of space (padding) in each element. These are all Visual Composer elements and therefore are not dictated only by theme style. Please note that you are using different elements. Each of them has it’s own specifications. So the padding according to the type of element is also different.
Also in the services section, you have set a row within a row. This affects css as well by adding more padding.This code you have added in custom css box:
.container.dark { margin-top: -85px; }
was causing part of the space. I commented it out. I added this code too, to remove the additional space:
.vc_row.section-style, .vc_row.standard_section { margin-bottom: 0 !important; }
Also i see you have added padding to your columns(screenshot), remove them if you do not want any more space.
Best regards!

Okay, I was able to get most of my settings looking good the way that I want them. The only thing now is that there is a huge space below the menu bar and the slider. I don’t want that space. The code that you removed before was what was getting rid of that space before, as suggested by another support person. Is there a different way to do this so that it doesn’t mess everything else up?? Screen shot here of the space I want to get rid of.
-
Hello,
You were editing the wrong css class for that. That’s why other styling issues arise.
I added this code instead:.top_wrapper { margin-top: -85px !important; }
It’s ok now. Please check your site.
Best regards!

Funny. One of your other support team members was the one who told me to use that code. Thank you so much for your help! Looks great now! :)

Hi,
We give advice on the current request. But over time the requests change and since the elements are connected to each other, it happens to have to change (once or twice) some other elements in order to achieve the result you want.
Anyway, i am happy to see you got the result you wanted. Let us know for anything.
Best regards!

Hello-
I am having the same issue with my service circle icons again. The content text is aligning to the left but I want it to be centered. See https://216.166.82.94/careers/ to see the problem.
-
Hello,
I unchecked the option in Column Options > General > Centered Content and added this code into the page’s custom css box:
.services_medium.style_1.wpb_content_element { width: 75%; padding-left: 26%; }
It’s centered now. Please check the page.
Best regards!
