Hi there,
I have a website made by WordPress, I would like to change it to a Tower ( Dummy Data ) site. But when I tried to change it to a Tower site with my last site it showed everything immediately .. ( So everyone got confused when it said ‘Tower’ and the whole site wasn’t mine. )
How can I make sure that nobody can see the changes I make while I edit or import the Tower site? I want to show my old website pages or a demo page until I finish editing my new site. How can I do this without showing anything els before it’s done?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Have a great day.

Hello,
If you have already created the pages of the old website, then just assign these to main menu and as the home page. So the visitors of the site will only be send to the old site’s pages.
Did you already imported the dummy data? If so, then keep customizing them in private. If a page is not set in the menu or as home page/blog page, no one can access it unless it knows the precise url.
Let us know if you need help.Best regards!

Hi there,
Thank you for your fast reply! I have some more questions about what you told me.
How do I assign the pages to a main menu and as the home page? How do I customize the dummy data in private? Is this all I have to do to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
You can assign the home page and blog in tower General Options > Select Special Pages. See more here:
https://codeless.co/tower/documentation/main.html#set_up_homepage
And to assign pages to menu, please go to Appearance > Menus. Select your main menu and add only the pages you want to show. see screenshot.
To understand better how menu is set up, please read this useful link:

Hi there,
I have a template as my old website but I need to change it to Tower, but when I do it my old website will change to the Tower site. ( It needs to change in the end but when I finish editing it. ) I can’t make changes in the Tower General Options so it won’t change, when I do it has already been changed. I need to know how it won’t change when I change it to Tower while I can edit it when others still see my old website, and show the Tower pages later. I’m not good at explaining it but I hope you understand.
Have a great day.

Hello,
You don’t want the clients to see the progress between your old website and your new finished site? You can install a Construction Mode plugin, to make you website not accessible while you have your plugin ON. (for ex. see this plugin).
Let us know if you want something else instead.Best regards!
