Hi,
For backup purpose you can manually change theme name from main style and then upload latest theme. If something bad happen like may some of settings you have done in parent theme not in child theme are not present in latest theme, so you can roll back.

Thanks for sharing your experince, Let me share another tip rather than manually changing url/references from database use “Velvet Blue” Plug-in, It will make life easier.

This is not a problem on Mobile Menu it cant be done like that. Our all theme are built using same structure.

This is not a problem and possible via customization.
