I’ve inherited a site running Specular 2.6.4 which has jQuery issues with WordPress 5.5 and 5.6. I’ve hooked my Envato API and product key into the site for updates and have done the kosher theme update to Specular 4.0.1 in WordPress. However, installing it blew away the look and feel of the entire site. It is using a Specular Child Theme which I would have hoped would make the transition work OK, but clearly not.
I’m wondering if it is reasonable to do as big of an update as going from 2.6.4 to 4.0.1? Should it be done in steps? Any thoughts are greatly appreciate.
It may crash your website from version 2 to 4 as a lot has changed in WordPress as well. So, we have changed code as well to keep things with wordpress standards.
