Hi
When uploading a fairly image to Media we get a range of automatically sized smaller versions which are automatically created in WordPress…which is fine….
The problem with the Specular theme is that it does not automatically select any of these smaller image sizes for a range of customisable areas including the logo.
Example:
When choosing the logo for the site under “General Options” you have the ability to choose the image you want to use from the media library..BUT when the page actually loads in the browser the theme is just putting the full sized version in (about 1600px) which is slow. I thought the point of having a theme which automatically created all these additional image sizes in the uploads folder, was that it would dynamically choose the smallest version it could to optimise the page load speed.
How do we get specular to correctly choose one of these smaller image sizes which exists in the uploads folder? I also noticed it does the same thing when using the Media component you can use from Visual Composer. It also does not offer a way to select a smaller version of your image and it does not automatically grab the smallest it can.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Marko

Hello,
Sorry but the logo and media element images are not cropped by default. If you want to use smaller images, then upload that image with the best resolution for your logo.
Specular theme has different elements that use the procedure you described. It selects the best fitting image for the element, from the library. But those are elements do not include logo.
You can find a list of them in file functions.php. (function codeless_images_sizes())Best regards!
