I’m seriously amazed at the amount of problems I’m discovering with your theme and setting up a blog which is the fundamental backbone of WordPress.
I have setup the theme correctly and get all sorts of display issues:
– blog sidebar not appearing. just a span9 with no span3
– select comments to display on main blog page results in broken page. turn it off it’s OK.
– view single post page with different layout options and only the featured image and title appear, no post content.
The list goes on and on…
Just to clarify, I have set the Specular Blog options and set the Post Page to the correct page.
Please help. This is surely not representative of all your hard work.

Here is a perfect example.
This image shows a single blog post.
Not only is it missing the sidebar, but if I toggle the Author settings the blog post text displays and doesn’t display.

I have loads more of these instances… completely random.
Can you please consider this a high priority.

All these issues seem to be related to MAMP.
I duplicated the site and put it on a new server and it’s working fine.
Any idea what could be causing the problem for a local installation?

It seemed to be an access right issue. You did not have enough rights to perform some actions or access the needed files. Glad to know it’s alright now.
