I’ve just received these screenshots from my client who is using Specular as a theme, as she can’t edit anything (only classic mode works for pages and posts):
Do you have any third party plugins installed? This usually happens due to plugins conflict with theme scripts. Please deactivate all third party plugins first. Then activate one at a time until you find the culprit.
As for the second error, this is more of a WordPress issue. My guess is the file isn’t found, or it needs to be reinstalled. Please check that you have all necessary access rights to wordpress files. This may also be caused by corrupted wordpress files. in this case you need to make a new installation. Do you have any error displayed in your console? Please send us a link of your site so we can give a closer look. Let us know.
Thanks, I’ve found the culprit, it was Ninja Forms. I thought it was OK to use Ninja Forms while temporarily deactivating Specular (to edit the forms), but apparently it still causes trouble when I reactivate the theme and try to change pages and posts. Is there any alternative function in Specular to build forms? My client really needs them, so I am thinking hard to find a solution.
We haven’t tested all plugins out there so i can’t tell exactly which one is the best. But there are a lot of good plugins as alternative that you could use. Here is a list of suggestions.
