All fields for Contact Form 7 are not styled – i.e.: input fields have no borders? I though the Contact Form 7 supposed to be built in into the theme?

No, Contact Form 7 is not build in. It is an independent plugin that is fully compatible with theme. You can change it’s style with custom css code. Add the code into your custom css box.
