Hi,
Any changes have been made to the website since almost one year now…
No email have been received from WordPress neither, only the website visitors have reported the issue. The logs shared were retrieved from the cpanel errors view while trying to understand what happened.Thanks for your help

There has been a critical error in a file path in the Kirki Developer Framework plugin, resulting in crashing the site. Github has passed this on to Codeless who are supposed to be working on fixing this. Meanwhile if you want to get your Handel site back up, use your ftp or c-panel, get into your files and rename your plugins to plugin-old. Then you can log into your site. Reactivate one plugin at a time, but SKIP Kirki Developer Framework. Delete if it is ver 4.0 or 4.0.3. Search for this plugin on the internet and download any earlier version (anything 3.*) Download this and install it from your desktop to the dashboard. Turn off auto update. Don’t be surprised if your WPBakery needs a new version as well and that is an expensive update unless the developer decides to actually update it with their license. This is another problem with Handel, it wasn’t updated by the developer in Themeforest. So likely when you go into your page to edit you will no longer see the same results using WPBakery plus Gutenberg blocks, just a mess of a whole page of mucked up code. Using the customizer will allow some repairs but not everything.

Hi Dear @waterball
I have followed your instructions and it worked pretty well.
I got my website back.Thank you both for your help!
Kindly let us know once you are aware of a definite fix (I guess several people are facing the same issue).

@maimouna,
The Kirki Customizer Framework Plugin is downgraded by its own developers as it was causing many issues with many themes. Now the latest version for the Kirki Customizer Framework is 3.1.9 and it’s working fine.Please install the latest plugin(3.1.9), then check and let me know. You can install the latest plugin from the WordPress repository,
Thanks,

Hi @Azam
This is exactly what I did: removed the existing kirki 4.x plugin and then installed the 3.1.9 version (downloaded from their own website)As a precaution I have also deactivated the auto-update mode…
Now everything is working fine.
Thanks. -

Thank you for this information! I believe I downloaded 3.1.8 before so I wasn’t too far off. I have “something” up for my client. This site is a licensed FEC advisor site so there are some regulations I must update and maintain.
My major problem remains. My home page in the dashboard edit screen is just a mess of code with other nonsensical junk, the WPBakery + Gutenberg blocks are all gone. I can only do so much with customizer and so now my site looks crooked with an empty right side bar that I can’t delete, either with customizer or the page editor. I am afraid to attempt to do anything with the page in the editor, thinking it will break what I already have. I’m clueless as to why the site is still working, partially.
I can use developer tools in google to view the html and CSS etc and have been able to fix a few things by just changing a margin to a ridiculously large value. But once the site is blown out, I won’t have this ability to replace the site the way it was.
If anyone could suggest a strategy to fix this I would appreciate it.
Thank you! -
@waterbowl,
If you’re using one of the codeless themes then please create a new support ticket and share the website URL, wp-admin info, and FTP info and send me using private reply.Thanks,
-
Ok, I logged in and paid for a continuation of my support for Handel. You’ll have to explain to me HOW to get into the support ticket to actually fill out a request. When I click on Go To Item Support and it takes me to this page which has plenty of information about support but no link to start a Report Ticket. https://support.codeless.co/?envato_item_id=20506941
To set up a user account for a temporary login I need a name and email. I can do this as soon as you give me an idea where to get to the support ticket area.
