Darg and drop portfolio topics?

nextportfolioportfolio items out of orderprev

THIS IS FOR THE “TOWER” THEME – sorry, I tried to post there (several times) but it took me to here instead.

Isn’t there any way to drag and drop portfolio items? This is exactly the opposite order I want. Or do I have to re-do going from last to first?

      Thanks. :)

      Hello,

The portfolio posts are ordered according to their creation datetime. I suggest you to use a custom post order plugin to order them to your wish. A good one is “Post Types Order“. It has the drag-and-drop feature you want.

      Best regards!

Thanks for the plugin suggestion, it worked great. :) However, now there’s another problem. When I click on Hillel Jewish Student Center (which I’ve placed first), it only gives me backward navigation, no forward (see attached image, scroll all the way to the right). In fact, for the left/right navigation, all the portfolio pieces are wacked, nothing is in order. When navigating by the left/right buttons, nothing is in order. – ? How do I fix this?

OKAY – Here’s the way it works – When I click the first item, it only has a “back” button. Then if you proceed backward, you get the order that’s supposed to go forward. How do I get this turned around?

Also, I added the WEB gallery in addition to the PRINT gallery. BUT, though they are separated categorically, clicking either gallery button, (Web Print) gives you the entire gallery. – ??

If I can these two problems fixed, I’m almost there. :) Thanks for your help.

      Hello,

Sorry but that is the default order of theme for the portfolio items. The last(top of the list) item is considered first and all others are “previous”. That is why it shows the “previous” button and not the “next”. You can change it if you want but this requires a lot of work and code editing. Which, as a personal change is not included in support service.
Theme does not have any issue with the portfolio category filter. Can you send us your wp credentials in a private reply? So we can give it a closer look.

      Best regards!

This makes no sense. I need to get this turned around (kind of time sensitive). Could you please tell me how to get it going forward instead of backwards? Is it a simple matter of rearranging the portfolio items? – Thanks.

I see that’s the order of your sample page also (https://codeless.co/preview.php?theme=tower&demo=portfolio/fullwidth-portfolio-grid)  but that’s just wacky. Since when does the forward button mean backwards and the backward button mean forward?

How do I send a private reply? I just tried a “private reply” and I can see it.

      Hello,

      Sorry for the late reply.
You can see your private replies. So can the support admins. But the other visitors can not.
-The next/prev orientation is a custom choice from theme designers. it is fully functional and many of our customers are ok with it. If the majority would have had any inconvenience with it, then we would definitely change it.
So since this is a personal choice for us as well as you, please follow this steps to change it to your wish:
-Go to file single-portfolio.php and find these lines:
      https://codeshare.io/I22Wt

      Replace with these:
      https://codeshare.io/qZMce

      Save file and refresh page.

      Best regards!

Thank you for the replacement code. This is much better.
