I followed all the installation steps in documentation and youtube video ‘Specular Install Theme and Demo Data’.
Specular/ Import/Export (Dummy Data) isn’t getting me the expected results. I don’t get everything downloaded Instead, I get content coming from Codeless.com. The menu items get duplicated. The sliders don’t work until I fiddle with slider settings on a particular page. I don’t get all the images or stock content. ‘Place image here’ regions show up.I have an install on my domain, and have included all logon/ftp info in my account settings so you can look at it. But what I really want to do is develop the website offline using wamp and have access to all the demo data offline.
I also really want to see and switch between the pure demos, not have to fiddle with pages and guess how it should all be put together. This after all was one of the features I thought I had purchased.
Thanks for your help

Hello,
If the import was finished 100% then you do get everything downloaded. Did you check the “Import with attachments” option? Checking this option before the dummy data import, will also include the images. But this increases significantly the data size and you may need to increase your memory and execution time limit in you server.
The only content related to Codeless.co would be some links of the demo sites in the menu and perhaps some images links. This is nothing you can not replace. It is used for demonstration purpose only.
Please go to your Appearance > Menus, to add/edit the menu items. You can create a new menu and add the pages you want, or just edit the current one.
The default demo is the largest one. It contains all of the pre-created pages. Other demos have the pages used to build them, but the number of them is less than the demo. So basically you can re-create every other demo from the default one.
If you keep importing demos, then you will have duplicates (pages/menu items) unless you clear your database and then import dummy data again.
What demo do you want to use? We can help you configure it.
I see the default one is already imported with success in your online site. Please let us know if you have further questions and how we can help you.
Best regards!

Thanks for your informative response. I was mostly bothered by that duplication effect which you explained. I did empty my db in my many attempts to get the results I thought I should expect.
I really would appreciate you assistance in getting the complete Business Landing demo on my online website, because this is the template I customized online. I’m still not getting the expected slider when I try to import it.
It would be nice if you offered zipped installs for each demo.
Thanks!

Hello,
1-I imported with success the “Business Landing” demo (screenshot)
2-I set up the styling of menu items in General Options > Header Options > Menu Options.
3-I set up the footer with 4 columns just like the demo, in General Options > Footer Options.
4-I imported the missing images of clients in General Options > Clients.
Please check your site now.You can find all available demo files in your theme folder downloaded from Envato. Follow this path: specular\includes\dummy_data\demos
Let us know if you need further help.
Best regards!

I appreciate your help. But you just had to fiddle around with all kinds of settings, layout, etc. to complete that demo.
I am very disappointed with your demos & dummy data! The Default demo’s menu is seriously incomplete. It took me much time to reconstruct it and when finished, the blog pages were so incomplete as to be useless.
Business5 demo requires several sliders that are not even available in the slider dummy data provided.
You say that these are for demonstration purposes only. You don’t seem to understand the purposes of demos! They are for being complete so that a user doesn’t have to guess, but is saved the time. A real demo shows users all the features of a theme and allows them to look at how it is all set up on the back-end. If you provide only incomplete demos that don’t have this back-end completeness, then you are wasting my time and yours supporting me.
“…demonstration purpose only” The whole purpose of demos is to be very complete…otherwise they are useless as productivity tools to aid fast learning! They are also supposed to save your company support time, not increase it!

Hello,
-Can you please be more specific? The site can only have one blog page. You do though have a lot of blog styles which you can switch on to. Find them in General Options > Blog Config.
-“Demostration purpose only” is only referred to the images.
Let me recall that you do have both options, to import them as well as not to import them. Since these images are quite large and importing them could be a waste of time and memory for some who have shared hosting. Also some other clients are not interested in getting the images as they have their own images to import. We are here to help so please do ask when ever and what ever you need to! We are glad to serve you no matter how time consuming it could be.
However, as themes and our service is in contiguous growing, we also are very interested in improving our service. So for every request / advice / complain please write us at our “Suggest Us Features” forum. We appreciate every of your suggestions and will try to include them as soon as possible in later theme updates.
Let us know if we can help you with anything else in your site.
Best regards!

I’ve been very specific. The main menu that comes with dummy data in demo ‘Default’ does not have anything but empty titles, not even set to ‘megamenus’ under “Portfolio” and “Elements”. “Blog” and “Pages” were almost empty. Not anywhere near the displayed like online demo. The details of them are important to demo theme’s features. Not just to sell us on them, but as an example to use as a fast tutorial. When you give us demos that do not have these menus appearing in the dummy data, and incomplete pages, I might add, you are depriving us of seeing the back-end settings for that demoed feature. You make the user have to waste time to figure it out when we thought this was a working example to show us instantly how to do it.
Wordpress developers normally expect demo dummy data to be complete. I’m getting severely incomplete pages and menu in the current Default demo. You have perfect copies on your online demos. Why only provide us with mediocre, incomplete dummy data that we have to work at and waste time to make appear as online?
That’s not what you promised with your online template builder feature. It’s not only the pictures missing when you yourself had to “set up the footer with 4 columns” to fix the Business Landing demo for me to get it to look like the demo online. I spent way too much time reconstructing demo Default’s main menu and have found the actual pages on “Blog” menu items severely lacking in content displayed in the online demo version, and that’s after having to really guess at which pages to put on that menu myself.

Hi, I do admit that all along, there is difficulty in getting dummy data to install. The import gets stuck at a certain unfinished percentage, no matter how long I wait for it to finish. I try importing content, theme settings and widgets separately to get it to complete. I check Include Attachments, also. I keep getting the same results both online and offline. I have the example of what I get for demo Default up on our website for you to look at. The main menu, as I’ve been saying is very incomplete and even if I fix that, the pages in the sub-menus are often empty. Perhaps I’m never able to complete the importing process properly? Your assistance and advice would be appreciated. Thanks – Jeff

Hello,
1-The dummy data import requires a limit of memory which most hosts do not offer. That is why we often consult our customers to increase their memory and execution time limit in order for the process of dummy data import to have all needed resources to finish successfully.
Some demos have a lot of data to import and some have very few pages and posts so do not require the same resources.2-The attachements as explained in my previous replies, increase the demo data upload size since they are solely images with great resolution. Meaning it requires more time and memory.
3-All pages presented in the online demo, are already imported in your host. All you have to do is add the ones you want to use in your menu. Creating a mega menu is just a click away. Just go to your Appearance > Menus. Select the menu you want to edit, check the box (screenshot) to have the menu item as mega menu.
4-By “empty pages”, are you referring to the blog pages that are displayed in the online demo? If so, please know that there can only be ONE blog page in a wordpress site. The online demo pages you see are created with cookies for demonstration purpose only!
Find all blog styles at your General Options > Blog Config > Blog Style (screenshot). We understand that theme has a lot of features and styles. This is for you to be able to create as much unique sites as you wish. To understand it better and make the most out of it please consult theme documentation first. Also watch our online video tutorials for more help on how to configure all theme pages.
Best regards!

My demo data only flashes 0% and then stops importing. I have reinstalled the template and plugins to no avail. I have also watched the related videos. Please help.

I downloaded the files yesterday. Have they been updated since then?
-
I have done everything you have suggested. It does the exact same thing. I am about to leave horrible reviews, seriously. How can it be that so many people have had this same problem and it is still not fixed? Please fix this. I have done everything correctly, step by step. If not, please give me the demo files so I can do it myself from file manager.

Hi! I’am do import / export (dummy data) at the begining, then put a check mark in the Check to import attachments and click Import. A fraction of a second progress bar appears and disappears without results. So it was in OpenServer and again on the hosting. What to do?

Hello,
@mwc1991 and @mr.moonshield
Please open your own ticket with the issue you have. If you have already taken the last theme update and the import is still not functioning, then please fill in the necessary information on your extra information fields of your profile data. Both wp and ftp. So we can give it a closer look.Read this article for more information.
Best regards!
