Error when installing slider plugins

  I am attempting to install the “LayerSlider WP” and “Revolution Slider” plugins, and I get the following error message:
  
  How can I fix this? (I’m very new to WordPress, so please try to keep any instructions in simple terms!)

  Sorry for the late reply.
  You may have installed the wrong theme folder. Please make sure to have uploaded only the ‘specular’ folder into your wp-content/themes folder, and not the main folder you downloaded.
  This is usually an error that happens when the theme is installed wrong, leading to wrong url’s.

  Hi Mihaila!
  
  I am almost positive that I installed the correct theme folder :(
  
  I unzipped the folder “themeforest-11941335-tower-businessdriven-multipurpose-wp-theme.zip”
  
  Then I installed the folder “Tower” and “Tower Child”
  
  Does this sound correct?
  
  All the other plugins are working except for the 2 above.

  Hello,
  
  Please install plugins from your parent theme, not the child. You have activated child theme and tried to install plugins. It is not the correct url.
  Activate parent theme, install plugins and then switch to child theme.
  The other two plugins who installed without issue, are using an external url, not connected to theme.
