  but i don’t need mailchimp plugin, why the theme is broken if i disable this plugin?

  Hello,
  
  The mailchimp plugin is needed for theme to function correctly. Decision of the developers. However it does not affect your site’s speed or performance. You may not use it if you want. But just keeping it active will not do any harm.
