Image Alt Tags Not Displaying

  As a Specular Theme web developer, using the latest version of WPBakery Page Builder (Visual Composer), I would like to know how to get the ALT tags to display appropriately on the frontend for Media elements so that my website can be more accessible.
  
  I have tried to reference the solution found here but it caused fatal error when I updated media.php https://support.codeless.co/?topic=image-alt-tags-missing-on-home-page

  on media.php file
  
  replace alt=”whatever inside” with
  
  alt="'.get_post_meta( $image, '_wp_attachment_image_alt', true );.'"
