I recently purchased Specular and installed the theme but when I import the dummy data (default theme) the progress bar stalls at 30% or I get a “Your backup or demo doesn’t contain sidebar_widgets.txt file.” error. I can see that the theme is installed but can’t see the imported content. The Specular theme is up to date to the best of my knowledge.
Do not select any backup. Just select the demo theme and click ‘Import” button.
Then wait some second until the demo data are installed.

I have the same issues and have been waiting days for help here on the forums. I am very frustrated with the problems with the theme and even more disappointed with support from the developer.
I was wondering if this fixed your problem before I waste more time trying it.
