Kirki Plugin Issue

  I bought and installed the Regn Theme, modified to my liking within the WordPress editor utilizing WP Bakery. Installation and modifications were successful but then one day my site was down. Upon investigation, I found that it was the Kirki plugin causing issues. I downgraded as to 3.1.9 as I saw others do and that seemed to have solved the majority of issues.

  Active Theme: Regn (Version 1.2.3)
  Active Plugin: Required plugins
  Kirki plugin: Downgraded from using 4.0.22 -> 3.1.9
  PHP-Version 7.4
  
  Failure Details

  Once downgraded, applied the fix as mentioned in other threads. I have not been successful in getting the footer to come back. It looks like there are other minor issues, but I can handle those.
  
  I have been working with WordPress for a decade. Please give details and I can update. thank you!!
  
  Question:
  1) Is there an ETA to update the Kirki plugin to resolve this issue in it’s entirety?
  2) Is there a fix to get the footer to come back?

  I understand that the support agreement is expired. I wasn’t having any layout or WordPress issues until your plugin, which is required for this theme to work, stopped working as expected.
  
  In order for my website to remain working, you’re suggesting that I pay an additional fee in order to get the code for it to work as expected? That doesn’t sound like proper handling. This is why I went to Themeforest because they validate their suppliers for good service.

  Thank you. Can you please explain what your support process will be? I want to make sure that when you go in there, I understand what is happening and I can share this with the owner of the business before I give you access. By my policy, I am required to tell them before making changes.

  I had this issue on my site, went into FTP and renamed my Plugins folder to Plugins.hold… according to WordPress that resets your plugins and form there I was able to get into wp-admin. I then deleted Kirki which was the latest updated plugin.
  
  I downloaded the latest version of Kirki… uploaded it into Plugins.hold and renamed it back to Plugins and everything seems to be working fine.

  I have an admin tool I use to disable the theme / plugins so I was able to get into wp-admin no problem. However, when I update to the latest plugin I receive the below message:
  
  “There is a new version of Kirki Customizer Framework available. View version 4.0.22 details or update now.”
  
  I receive the same error where the site goes down and nothing works. I then disable that theme, activate another, and disable kirki. I uploaded the last known working version and that did the trick where it seems to be working mostly as expected without the footer.
  
  As a sidenote, I do have the codeless framework plugin installed as well. Codeless Framework – Codeless Framework Tools and Header Builder. Version 1.0.1 | By Codeless | Visit plugin site
  
  Are all of your plugins / themes up to date?
  Does your footer work after applying the update you replied with?

  All of my plugins are currently up to date. I am using Folie theme so my plugins may differ from years. I just assumed the latest updated plugin by date in FTP would be the culprit and removed it.
  
  Definitely something weird with Kirki… I just went to their site an downloaded their news version and uploaded it and it seems to work. I didn’t do it through admin panel but rather FTP.
  
  I don’t have a Footer with Folie Photography Dark. Can’t remember if I disabled it or if it just doesn’t install when I use the Codeless Setup Wizard.

    I was driving and replying lol once I saw you had a different site it was no longer apples to apples so I stopped risking it at 100% lol thank you for your thoughts on this!
    
    I’m utilizing the Regn theme template. It’s been working pretty well and I love the WPBakery no-code drag and drop features. I sometimes find sites that use this plugin and am selective because it’s quick and provides the flexibility I need. Some can have better performance or customizability but I found that WPB has a good balance.
    
    I hope your template updates / customize go smooth in the future you have some good karma building up! haha

  Every theme has own configuration, since you are using Regn and @akiPika using Folie. About Changes: I always ask copy the website to test server we will make changes there and let you know back in safe way – once everything is OK, you can move to live website.
  
  There is so many factors, issues we have to check and test it, i cant list them all over here.

    Im still not seeing the footer. Were you able to see the footer after making your changes?

    How would you like me to proceed in building the footer? What are the recommended steps to create the new footer? Initially I just modified the footer that came with the WordPress theme.

  Hi,
  In order to add the new footer, you’ve to add widgets to it. Things you need to do
  1- Select Footer layout (1 col, 2 cols)
  2- Add widgets
  3- Publish Changes
  
  – You can select the footer layout
  WP-Admin Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Footer > Layout
  
  – You can add widgets from
  WP-Admin Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Widgets > Footer Column * > Add the appropriate widgets > Modify it according to your need > Publish > Done
