Hello,
We’ve been trying to translate our (still not live) blog to Spanish but it doesn’t appear to be working. We’re using Loco Translate but strings are not changing from the original English. WordPress language is set to Spanish and changes are saved as usual but every string stays the same in the frontend view.
It might be worth noting that, when creating the new translation, the plugin can’t find a template, even though the template file appears in the previous screen. Also, when editing the freshly created translation, an alert on top of the page says “Translation set not known in Specular”
This far we’ve managed to translate a few random words (such as ‘Read More’ at blog post preview and ‘Search’ in the Search Box) by editing the theme code but that’s not the route we want to take, as it would complicate future updates.
Thank you
I’ve fixed it!
Turns out the text domain name was set as ‘codeless’ on the style.css sheet but ‘specular’ was used on each individual string. I thought I might have been the one to change ‘codeless’ to ‘specular’ in some string I had tried to translate before but ‘specular’ is also used on strings I’ve never even thought about.
