I’m having problems with viewing media in the WordPress admin console and also can’t see new suggested plugins when I go to add new plugin. When I try to view pictures in ‘Media’ the page is blank. Also I cannot add a featured image to a plugin because of this same problem.
When I tried to build a staging site (WP Staging plugin) to test, I get a blank page with the debug error:
Deprecated: Function create_function() is deprecated in /customers/9/6/c/turnbullturkeys.co.uk/httpd.www/test/wp-content/themes/specular/functions-woocommerce.php on line 79
Is this connected with the viewing images problem?
Could you please advise.

Hello,
This is not an issue we have encountered anywhere else. What version of theme do you have? Please add a link of the site you have issues and some wp credentials in a private reply.
So we can check this.Best regards!

I’m on Specular version 2.6.2. I would like to update my Specular version to latest version but am worried about this particular issue and also problems after upgrading.
Login credentials are in my user profile.

Apart from ‘WPBakery Page Builder’ everything else on my site is up to date and the front end works fine. We have a shop that works fine too – except that I can’t add any new products because of the inability to add a featured image (seems to be linked with the ‘Media’ issue).

Hello,
You need to update the theme. Even if you delay it another month or two, you have to eventually update it. Not just because of WP Bakery but because technology is always developing and core functions of php/wordpress/javascript change from time to time.
That’s why we release updates, in order to make theme compatible with the latest developments. An old theme’s security is not guaranteed either.I suggest you save a backup of the entire site data (go to Specular > Import/Export > Save Backup) and save a backup of theme files in your computer.
Then upload the latest theme files. DO not keep a copy of old theme folder in the server as it may cause issues.
You may make the update using the Envato market plugin.Let us know.
Best regards! -
By the way I purchased today a support extension and sent you an email as instructed.

I’ve updated my site to the latest version of Specular and as I feared there are a number of issues that I need to fix and hope you can help with this:
1. On a number of pages (like our home page for example) we have used a Navigation Menu widget. The layout of this widget has changed from how it was before the upgrade. Now it does not look as nice.
Go to: http://www.turnbullturkeys.co.uk to see how it looks after the update.
The screenshot below shows how it should look:
http://www.turnbullturkeys.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/home-page.pdf
2. On every page in the top right there is a basket icon. Since the update it has reduced in size so now it is too small. How do I get the size larger again please? See the above home-page.pdf image and compare it with our site now after the update.
Go to: http://www.turnbullturkeys.co.uk to see how it looks after the update.
3. When working in the WordPress backend on our Privacy Policy page it is showing RAW HTML instead of the usual layout. Also on the front end customer facing view of that page the main top menu items are underlined. How can we fix these please?
Hope you can help me with these before our customers notice :-)

Just noticed also:
4. The ‘Your Order’ (view basket) page looks different too. The ‘UPDATE BASKET’ wording is not centralised in the box.
5. The wording ‘PROCEED TO CHECKOUT’ used to be all on one line in the green bordered box but now it is on 2 lines.
This is how the two boxes should look:

How do we resolve this please?

Please ignore my question 3. regarding RAW HTML as that was down to me. Apologies.

Hello,
1-I reset the sidebar to its former style by adding this css in your Custom Css box:
/*changes from support after theme update*/ aside ul li{ padding-top:10px !important; padding-bottom:10px !important; border-bottom: 1px solid #e7e7e7 !important; } aside .widget_nav_menu li:after{ display: block !important; }
Refresh page to see changes.
2-You fixed the basket yourself;
3-Same here;4-To center the “Update Basket”, i added this css:
.shop_table .actions .btn-bt, .woocommerce-form-coupon .btn-bt{ line-height:18px !important; }
The original line-height was 38px. Pushing it further down.
5-I added this css:
.woocommerce-page .cart-collaterals .cart_totals a.checkout-button.button.alt.wc-forward.btn-bt.default{ padding: 10px 10px !important; }

That’s brilliant. Many thanks for your help.
Do you know why the menu items are underlined when you visit our Privacy Policy page?
-
Hello,
I added this css to remove the text-decoration that was adding the underline.
footer .inner .widget ul li a, a:link { text-decoration: none !important; }
Please check yoru site.
Best regards!

Many thanks. That looks great. Do you know why it was doing this just to that one page?
-
Hello,
To be honest, i don’t know. There are included scripts (from external sources) that get updated anytime. So changes can happen sometimes to the site/theme. That’s why we keep on updating it.
However, we are here to help you with anything.
Regards!
