Hello,
my website beatricecastaldo.com is loading really slowly and the content is really basic (only the homepage is online), with few images (that I already compressed and converted to webp to make them lighter) and a placeholder portfolio grid from Remake theme.
I also downloaded the W3 Total Cache plugin and activated Redis.
I tried unpublishing my custom CSS and it loads better so I don’t think the problem is the hosting, but my code is 13kb, nothing heavy.
What can I do?
Yes, yesterday night I found the problem inside my css. The “mix-blend-mode” property set on the header wasn’t well supported by the browsers, especially Chrome, this is why scrolling was lagging. I also found a way through javascript to show a black overlay before the loading appears to avoid the empty screen (also if it shouldn’t work in this way). The loader wasn’t a problem itself :)
