NEW UPDATE 4.1.0: IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION

  Recently we launched our latest Specular version 4.1.0
  
  We have made some changes that can push Specular forward to the future, more Elementor templates should be included soon.
  
  We have created a new plugin: “Specular WPBakery & Backward Compatibility”
  This plugin is required on cases you use a website version created with WPBakery builder.
  
  To make everything works as previous you have two possibilities:
  1. Install and activate Specular WPBakery & Backward Compatibility plugin (if you run 4.1.0 version)
  2. Do not update to the new version of Specular. In the Main package downloadable from themeforest you can find a copy of the old Specular theme, in case you need it.
  
  What’s next?
  1. Specular by default is lighter in size and performance now and will be more better in the near future.
  2. New Demos will be added for Elementor page builder and Cowidgets plugin.
  3. New Blog style will be added, to fit new design trends.
  4. Core web vitals are becoming more important on Google SEO. We will improve theme performance to make sure your websites will shine on Search Engines on next years.
  5. Migrating to the latest bootstrap version.
  6. Release of Specular Lite (Free) version on WordPress repository.

  Where do I get this plugin?

    The plugin is showed as required on the top of the screen on Dashboard, just click install & activate it. It’s shows only when WPBakery is already installed & activated.

  I use the WPBakery Builder, so if I install the new Specular version, the new plugin: “Specular WPBakery & Backward Compatibility” will replace the old one?
  Will it affect my website design?

    If you install the new Specular version (that you can even rollback if any issue is released, old version is on package too) a new Required notification will be shown on your Dashboard. It will recommend you to install & activate the new Specular WPBakery Addons & backward compatibility plugin. It is a totally new plugin.

  I updated everything, installed the extra plugin and ended up with a Layer Slider WP not working anymore.
  This happened on 2 separate sites.
  
  I rolled back to Specular 4.0.7 to solve the issue.
  
  Looking forward to an update.

    Also interesting for us. Any replies on that? For me it seems there are a lot of problems existing… @support: As your providing an old version along with the 4.1 version we assume that you are expecting downright problems, is that right? All users who use the theme in a productive environment are of course afraid that everything will be broken after the update.

      Exactly! Futhermore, in this guide I read at point 2 “2. Do not update to the new version of Specular. In the Main package downloadable from themeforest you can find a copy of the old Specular theme, in case you need it.”.
      It is very strange because what I understud from this point, is that I have to keep forever 4.0.9 version.
      I am lucky because I moved my customer’s e-commerce recently so I kept a copy on my server in order to make test and update before doing all on the real website

  I tried updating to 4.1.2 again yesterday. Tried two different ways. I was successful at updating with no error. BUT with the update of the codeless framework plugin, I lost my codeless sliders. It has vanished from the backend after update. Please advise.

  Has anyone using Composer (not Elementor) successfully updated the theme without losing something? Tonight I tried to update again. This time I could not update the theme through admin. Had to upload it. Critical error again with Codeless framework. Deleted and uploaded that through ftp. I lost some of my widgets this time. Header with widgetized area and social media in footer. I would really like to update or figure out how to stop the notice that update is required.

  Where is this plugin “Specular WPBakery & Backward Compatibility plugin”?
  
  It is not in the downloaded theme files version 4.1.7
  
  We are hoping it will fix the new versions problems that breaking our theme and site, either that or we will be stuck using version 4.0.9 from now on, not good.

  In my case it all started by losing all WPBakery Builder addons, first the new plugin: “Specular WPBakery & Backward Compatibility” wasn’t there. When it finally appeared still didn’t make it work. I tried then to install the previous version from the package and everything crashed. Now my site is not working, all the WP Bakery functions have disappeared and I have everything in Maintenance mode but even there the images (the logo of the company) is broken.
  
  Can you please take a look? I’ve done everything you suggested and the site ended completely messed up.

  Same issue, we have 3 licenses / websites running with specular.
  We didn´t update for long, now we have security issues and have to.
  
  We´re running Specular 2.6.3, and everything is built with WPbakery Page Builder.
  I´ve read all the update problems because of the builder-switch to elementor, so for now – i dont know what to do and how th update.
  I cannot rebuild all the pages, it will not be paid from customer-side.
  
  How can i update to the newest version of theme and wordpress?
  What update first? Please advise how to update from Specular 2.6
